Yonga Solutions personnel are immersed in what is happening in the Aboriginal world. We are across all issues not only because it is our business to know but also because we live it. It is this deep knowledge and understanding that enables us to provide sound and informed advice and support to clients.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander world is as diverse as the mainstream world. Whilst Yonga’s main connections is in the south west of WA, we have networks and connections throughout the state and wider Australia. We are currently undertaking a mainstream project for a large NGO that relates to the statewide impact of services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as well as CALD communities and LGBTIQA+ folk. All of these communities are extremely diverse within themselves.
Yonga through Kambarang are experts at working with clients to assist them develop their Reconciliation Action Plans. We have assisted numerous organisations over the years. The latest which we are very proud of was for the Rottnest Island Authority launched in November 2021 and the WA Football Commission which is about to be launched. We are currently assisting other organisations with their plans such as BGC and CCIWA.
Yonga Solutions personnel are skilled at assisting organisations develop policy. We have developed major policies which involved statewide consultations that are now in place for government. The current State Men’s Policy was undertaken as a mainstream project for the Health Department. The West Australian Country Health Service engaged us to develop their Cultural Governance Framework which has now been endorsed by their executive.
Yonga can assist with managing projects, large or small. Yonga has successfully project managed several initiatives involving a team to deliver an outcome within budget and time.
Yonga has facilitated countless meetings and workshops. The workshop or meeting generally has an agenda, timeframe and outcomes which Yonga is able to deliver. We currently have regular facilitation work at the moment and the biggest we have undertaken involved 120 people which was successfully accomplished.
Yonga Solution personnel are expert Cultural Awareness trainers and can tailer a program to suit the client’s needs. The training follows a basic format of understanding the current state of play, traditional culture, the impact of past policies and practices, and what are the ways forward. Apart from cultural awareness training Yonga can also design a program that addresses unconscious bias, racism and privilege.
Yonga can help with connecting and engaging the Aboriginal world. We are aware of and have expertise in most issues that impact on Aboriginal people. We currently facilitate meetings and workshops from Elders, to community, and through to homeless people. We can respond to women’s business and men’s business as required.
The Aboriginal community is still recovering from the impacts of past policies and practices. Yonga has expertise with community wide projects that are about developing and empowering community to have control of their own lives.

Currently provide meeting facilitation for Westport Aboriginal Advisory Group and for local government’s City of Perth Elder Group, City of Fremantle Walyalup Reconciliation Action Group, and City of Vincent Reconciliation workshops to name a few.
